About Us
Salem’s building is located just outside Cheltenham town centre. Our main meeting is on a Sunday morning at 10:30am, usually led by our minister the Revd. Andy Grice.
Salem has been part of Cheltenham life since 1836. During that time we’ve moved around a bit and now meet in purpose-built premises on St Georges Road. God has been good to us over the years and we have worked to maintain our evangelical witness to the gospel in both words and deeds.
We are a mix of people of varying ages and backgrounds. We have a number of families and take our children seriously, both during the service and in their own groups, but we also have members in their 90s.
In our worship we use both new songs as well as more traditional hymns. Our rule of thumb is “does it glorify God?”. We aim for vibrant services where we know that we have met with God and have been touched by his Spirit.
We’re linked with WEBA and the Baptist Union, and are also part of an ecumenical cluster of churches in our area.
Our verses for the year of 2024 comes from Matthew 5:16
We hire our halls for activitiy groups. If you’d like to know more please contact us.
